The Artist
Neha Modi is a self-taught abstract artist whose practice began as a way to express what could not always be articulated. What started as an instinctive outlet gradually became a disciplined way of listening—both inwardly and to the world around her.
Her work is guided by attention rather than intention, curiosity rather than certainty. Through slow, deliberate mark-making, she allows each piece to unfold in its own time, responding to what is present rather than imposing a predetermined idea. Creating, for her, is an act of noticing—of subtle shifts, pauses, and internal movement.
Rooted in mindfulness and emotional awareness, Neha’s work reflects an ongoing exploration of presence, restraint, and quiet resilience. Each artwork becomes a record of engagement rather than conclusion—open, evolving, and deeply personal.
The Process
Neha’s practice is grounded in intuitive abstraction and sustained attention to process. She works without preliminary sketches or fixed outcomes, allowing each piece to develop through repetition, response, and restraint. This approach places presence over control and process over resolution.
The work emerges slowly. Each line is a reaction to what already exists on the surface, shaped by observation and adjustment rather than urgency. There is no attempt to resolve or explain; instead, the practice holds space for uncertainty and unfolding.
Rather than illustrating specific narratives, the artworks carry emotional states and internal rhythms. Meaning remains open, inviting the viewer to meet the work through their own experience, interpretation, and pace.
